Overall characters i have so far

My Protection Paladin has finally reached lv70 this morning~
Now she's equipped with Crusader Scaled Battleset with some other equipments from Northrend.

Profession: Engineering and Enchanting.

My first lv70 character is my beastmastery hunter.
Wearing full Merciless Gladiator War set except for the boots.

Profession: Skinning & Leatherworking.

Currently putting this character on hold till i train my paladin to lv80.
Tested Deathknight build by theorycrafting using talent calculators.
Re-speced 8 times and finalize my build to be under Unholy.
Blood DK is good in PvE but weak in PvP.
Unholy DK is good on both aspect thus my decision.

Profession: Mining & Blacksmithing.

Erm... this character not really focusing it...
Just made him out for the sake of ... erm.... fun ? LOL

Finally Helicopter flying mount for my Paladin

Spent almost 50% of my whole fortune to push my engineering level all the way to 350 and craft my own flying machine. Darn heartpain T_T.... But the experience on the flying machine is fun.
hahaha

Then realised that i need to dive down the sea...
And so i did.. and found him...

Darn it.... the monster is too big until i need to take 2 screenshots to match em up!

Boss Died... I swam further up in order to see its overall size...

PvP Prot Pally - Avenger's Shield

With my cousin daniel working on his retridin, i still prefer to play my paladin as Protection spec.
Thus i altered some talent specs and uses Avenger's Shield Glyph and aiming for honor hold lv70 equipments to shorten my Hammer of Justice cooldown to as low as 20seconds.

Lv63 Prot Pally's Avenger's Shield Critical Damage in action: (1hit only..)

My Finalised Lv80 Unholy Deathknight Talent spec

Spent some time in researching the talent spec for Unholy Deathknight.
I realized that there isn't any cookie-cutter build at all for this hero class.
Total re-spec 5 times and based on BG requirement, i come down with this build.

Finalising my talent spec.
Generically, it should be like this

Unholy Blood DeathKnight: (15/0/56)

Unholy Blood DeathKnight 2: (17/0/54)

Just went to post a topic in WoW Deathknight forum on this talent spec:

The spec i made for Lv80 in future is @ http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jfcMVZZf0MItckxca0fsut

Main focus is on disease spamming & damage output from using Blood & Unholy strikes.
I did not put any point on Dirge at all as i do not spam Death Strike skill unless i need to regain health.
Commonly i would be spamming Blood Strike x 2 followed by Plague Strike.

3points to Subversion so i gained additional 9% critical chance when spamming Blood Strike.
2points to Butchery to generate runic power during PvE & Combat to sustain the Gargoyle.
2points to 2h mastery for more damage.
3points to Bladed Armor for damage. If i'm towards Gargoyle more i can move 3points to Scent of Blood.
5points to Dark Conviction for more critical rate for spells and melee.

No speed enhancement added in talent as i do not need them.
I'm looking towards more disease output and damage. The speed talents doesn't help me in DPS.

I've tried using 1point in Night of the Dead. The number of Plague & Scourge Strike hits doesn't seem to work well for me to generate the cooldown reduction faster during BG. So i will be using 2points.

I do not have Magic Suppression nor Anti Magic Zone talent thus Bone Shield is very important to me.
Probably i need to find some addon or write one myself to remind me to recast it everytime.

Blood Strike and Plague strike spamming is relatively better than using Death Strike.
I added 3points to Reaping instead of 2points previously to ENSURE 100% Death rune generation.

I added 4 out of 5points for Desecration which provides me 80% chance to proc the ground effect which i tested is sufficient enough. I could remove my 1point from Corpse Explosion and max Desecration but i chosen not to as Corpse Explosion contributes damage output and i am using Glyph of CE too.

I find this talent spec to be relatively useful and constant for me.
Just sharing the thoughts and see if it helps for everyone.
I total re-speced 5times in-game and tested the skills out at Lv59 in AV.
I will be re-speccing for the 6th time and follow this spec this time round.

I also saw a post on Deathknight basics & knowledge by Sunny from Wotlk Beta.
Indeed many valuable outputs came from her.

My Lv80 BM hunter talent spec (Revised)

Proc Proriority: (53/14/4)
Pushing my arrow and pet damage as high as possible.
3 points to Cobra strike for maximum proc effectiveness.

Base Damage Priority: (52/14/5)
Maxing my Improved Tracking instead of Cobra Strike.
Going all out for base damage priority.

My BM PvE cookie-cutter : (54/17/0)
This time round i will not max Go for the Throat.
Since i disable my Gorilla's pet skill Smack, the focus regeneration is over sufficient for him to spam Thunderstomp every 7seconds.
If i'm a heavy pet focus user, then i will remove 1 talent point from Spirit bond and max GftT.

Aimed shot is an important skill for all hunters.
Rapid killing is additional ranged attack bonus.

Awaiting for the Launch in Singapore on 14th Nov 2008

Bought a pre-order card for wotlk.
Design looks the same as the box.
Took a photo for remembrance~ =)
(Photo taken using Nokia N78)

MM Hunter wins over BM Hunter at Lv70

Sadly but its true, i tried testing out damage with a MM Hunter.
Maxed out my full buff on pet with even using Aspect of the Beast to try its full DPS vs a MM hunter. Result is pretty clear-cut : Lose

MM hunter base health is around -2000 of what a BM hunter has.
But their damage & attack power is far too stronger than us.

Hopefully there would be some light for BM hunter when we goes into Lv80 cap this Friday.
Awaiting exciting for Wrath of the Lich King launch =)

My confirmed Chimaeras talent spec

Finalised my Chimaeras pet talent spec @ Lv70 to be like this.

I have also finalised my Chimaeras pet talent spec @ Lv80 under this distribution based on 51 TP BM hunter spec.

Thoughts about Lv70 BG talent spec again..

Ok, this time round.. came up with some funny ideas on talent spec.
Not for the sake of DPS but for pure fun.
I be hitting Lv70 very soon either tonight or tomorrow.
I need to confirm my talent spec as soon as possible.
Will use 2 talent points in either Animal handler or Spirit bond.

Common BM Hunter: (51/10/0)

Proc BM Hunter: (54/0/7)

Trapper BM Hunter: (51/0/10)

Wing Clip + Disengage BM Hunter: (51/0/10)

Hunter's improved Disengage

Due to the introduction of patch 3.0.3, Disengage is finally out of global cooldown.
This is where hunters would be able to set disengage in their macro command and execute simultaneously. Moreover, we can make use of talent under survivalist + Glyph of Disengage to shorten our cooldown to as fast as 16secs recast.

Some macro shortcuts which I can utilise Disengage in BG:

#Showtooltip Disengage
/cast Wing Clip
/castsequence Freezing Trap, Disengage
/say Byebye Sucker~! LOL~!!!!

#Showtooltip Disengage
/cast Wing Clip
/cast Disengage

I try to avoid using too much melee attack skills in my macro since i'm a BM hunter.
I will always remind of myself to keep off a distance with my enemies in BG and send Pet attack commands.

My debation with friend on Devilsaur tooth with +200 ranged attack power trinket.

I was on a debation with my friend's brother last night on Hunter's Lv50 quest trinket - Devilsaur Tooth with those common +200 attack power trinkets.

He said my information was incorrect.
I tried to explained to him on the importance of BM pet attack power.
I guess only BM hunters who relies on their pet the most would understand what i mean.

My gut feeling that this trinket is also important is due to recent 3.0.2 patch, Blizzard changed the stats of this trinket to this, which greatly improves a BM hunter's pet damage by a significant margin.

*Bonus information below taken from petopedia*

Pet Scaling

How Your Stats Affect Your Pet

Starting with Patch 2.0, hunter pets now benefit from "pet scaling". Pet scaling just means that your pet gets to add some of your stats to his own stats, so that his power scales with your power. The basics are very simple:

  • Pets get about 45% of the hunter's stamina added to their stamina.
  • Pets get about 35% of the hunter's armor added to their armor.
  • Pets get about 22% of the hunter's ranged attack power added to their melee attack power.
  • Pets get about 12.5% of the hunter's ranged attack power added to their spell damage.
  • Pets get about 40% of the hunter's resistances added to their own resistances.
  • Pets inherit the hunter's hit and critical rates.

From here you can see, Pets get about 22% of the hunter's ranged attack power added to their melee attack power. So if our trinket gives us +200 ranged attack power, it only gives our pet a miserable 44 attack power.

Why people chooses to play BM hunter is because of their pet assisting them to fight.
Our pet is our tanker, our main attacker. While we BM hunter are supportive attacker.

Devilsaur tooth bonus is +200 Pet attack power for 20seconds.
This bonus when combines with Bestial Wrath and Kill Command, your pet can kill anyone in few seconds.

My Lv70 BM hunter talent spec

Hmm.. Wrath of the Lich King is 2 weeks away.
I could go for BG before the launch date.

Currently Lv68, hitting Lv70 very soon.
Still considering which BM spec for personal use in BG.

Proc-ing BM hunter: (56/5/0)

or

BM Survivalist hunter: (51/0/10)

or

BM Marksman hunter: (51/10/0)

I guess most likely i would be using either 1st or 2nd talent spec.

Some personal thought about my BM Hunter.

Been thinking for few days and playing around with Lv80 BM hunter talent trees.
Got some idea of what specs which i be residing based on BG purpose.

I personally find Chimaeras to be the best pet for battleground.
Reason is because of their fast cooldown Froststorm Breath.
It slows enemy for 5 seconds and at the same times dishing out ranged Frost & Lightning dmg. For this case, i'm not too sure whether the breath dmg is under physical or spell.
I also believe Gorilla pet would be unstoppable in BGs.
Their health & armor is so thick that we can basically use Aggressive mode and walk in BGs =P

During Lv60 AV, i frequently stayed alive while under the situation of 1v1, 1v2 or even 1v3.
Survival is crucial if i want to get more enemy frag kills.

Probably i will make 3 specs of 3 types as my consideration list.
Meaning to say, Pure, Offensive and Defensive BM based on my personal playing style.

Pure BM: (66/5/0) :
Simple BM tree spec with 5% critical rate chance to proc talent spec abilities for hunter.
4/5 on Frenzy is sufficient enough with it's 80% chance rate.
I shifted 1 point of this talent to maxed out Catlike reflexes.
I believe Chimaeras talent spec combine with Catlike reflexes allows it to survive better.

From here, i will need to extract out the talent points from BM side as much as possible and assign over to Marksmanship or Survivalist spec.

Some key points or styles which i do in BG. I called it F.A.T.H.O.P.E style of playing.
F : Flank - I like to play from far range or flank enemies from the sides during BG.
A : Aim - I would always go for the soft targets enemies first; Cloth, Mail, Plate wearer.
T : Trap - Always lay traps before engaging enemy. Disengage when near melee enemy.
H : Hotkeys - Set your most usage macros under 1-5 as they are near to WASD buttons.
O : Open - Making sure approaching enemy has open distance with me. No close combat.
P : Pet macros - Activate Intimidation + Bestial & Devilsaur Tooth or cycle for balanced dps.
E: - Ensure - Always ensuring my pet survive by mending it. Pull it back when health is low.

Offensive or Defensive ?:
Given myself an option to choose offensive or defensive BM is kind of contradicting.
Let's say HP1 = Hunter + Pet attacking is BM / Marksmanship hybrid hunter.
Let's say HP2 = Hunter + Pet attacking is BM / Survival hybrid hunter.

If no one is targetting me, HP1 = highest DPS.
If enemy is targetting my pet, HP1 > enemy.
If enemy is targetting my pet, HP2 is still > enemy but slower than HP1.
If enemy is targetting me, HP1 will lose out compared to HP2.
If enemy is targetting me, HP2 will have better chance than HP1.

When comes to BM hunter, I need to think again.
- Capping BM spec as 51 points and place rest on other talent.
- Adding the required BM spec which cost > 51 points and place rest on other talent.

And yet again, when comes to BM hunter, i need to think of these:
- To play simple BM hunter with MM or simple BM hunter with Survivality ?
- To play BM hunter that procs effects or to play BM hunter that goes for dmg ?
- To play with Aspect of the Hawk or not ?
- To play with more HP or more Armor spec or both spec ?

Thinking again, Hunter dies easily if faced close combat.
I am a hunter, not a melee attacker. I shouldn't be wasting specs on survivalist talent.
If i were to do that, i might as well play a melee class.
No offense but that's my personal opinion.
Even if i were to put points under this tree, i would choose those specs which will pull my distance away from my enemy as much as possible.

Offensive BM hunter with Proc in mind: (56/5/10)
If i'm going purely on proc-ing effects using BM hunter, i will most likely choose this.
Improved Aspect of the Hawk is useless here since my normal shots does not proc the pet talent.
I will be using Aspect of the Beast as i will be playing purely kiting in BG.
I will be using Aspect of the Monkey when enemy are near me to enjoy the dmg reduction.
I will be using trap Glyphs to slow enemy and pull away our distance while my pet grind em.
I might be using Aspect of the Monkey glyph to enhance my movement if engaged.
I am waiting for Glyph of Bestial Wrath.
I am hoping the developer would take my suggestion on adding Aspect of the Beast in talent.

Hmmm... need to put on thinking cap and ponder again....

Tamed my 3rd Pet - Nutcracker (Uhk'loc)

It took me a total of 6hours plus to wait for him to spawn in the Cave.
Despite having a gorilla pet tamed, i still pursue to get him.

Indeed, his tanking abilities in PVE is AMAZING.
At lv62, he tanked a group of 12 carrion birds type in outlands with his health full.
I only healed him once using Mend pet.

I reckon him as the best PVE pet for hunters in WoW to-date.
He's the only White Gorilla in World of warcraft that is tameable.

At level 65, here's the damage he could do when Bestial Wrath combines with Devilsaur tooth!

Here he is tanking massive mobs and still kicking!
You can see his damage when he executes his Thunderstomp!

And now~ with Critical~!
His highest Thunderstomp damage is around 1.5k at Lv65~!
You can see Nutcracker is dying but at end part, he never.
His defense hit 10,000 at lv65.

Found my true pet in Battleground - 2nd Exotic Pet

After several tries but in vain to find King Mosh spawning spot,
I went Feralas to tame the next Legendary exotic pet - Chimaera.

I went to add the pet talent based on my style of playing.
Indeed, he proved me greatly in battleground with massive killings.
I was awarded with 5000 kills achievement in war and at the same time awarded as
"Wreckling Ball" in the same battleground O.o

Tamed my first Exotic Pet - Ironhide Devilsaur

Oh yes! WoW version 3.0.2 finally arrives~!
Hunters gained free reset on their Talent tree and new talent skills!
Pets were also reimbursed with a Talent tree of their own ~ =)
Fairly easy to tame when i'm at lv60.
My freeze trap duration is 20 seconds which is just nice to tame this mob.

Tested him in BG.
Tends to die fast. Devilsaur is only feasible in PvE or small Arena afterall.
Battlegrounds are too tough for them to survive.

Creation of new guild - Tian Di Hui

(Guild logo designed by me)

Finally the day of setting up the guild has come for me & guanzhong.
Life was hard when we both started with nothing as newbies.

This guild has a theme, if possible we will only recruit local Singaporean or Malaysian players.
Asians also welcome. The purpose is to gather up and play together during the same time frame so we can build up rapport and support as a guild in unity and as a whole.

I specially created my Chinese Swordsman show female warrior - Yangbamei.
I think most likely i will be deleting her and re-create a new male warrior - Guojing.
Just bought new DVD - Se Diao Ying Xiong Zhuan which inspire me to name him as Guojing.

Most likely will be using Sword or Fist as my main weapon for him =)

My first Alterac Valley war

Focusing deeply on beastmastery for my Nightelf hunter, pushed my character to Lv59.
Went in Alterac Valley for the first time for this char and push for the kills...

My first war: Not used to the environment. Everything's getting bigger in the battleground.
Won my first AV in here and gaining my experience and improving as the days goes..

2nd round getting better. Things getting on and still figuring how the objective works.
Teaming up with team-mates and killed the last boss for objective.

3rd round getting smoother and clearer of my objectives this time round.
Going all out for blood and victory. Capping the hordes flags as we advance.

My last round before going out for movies with girlfriend.
This time round, with better experience in the battleground.
I go for the kills and support Alliance side clearing the last boss.
Victory~~~ =)

Exotic Pet - Rhino

Initially saw a topic about taming exotic pets, we can tame Rhino...
I thought it's just another common animal with some gold scale avatar icon..

To my surprise.... saw this Rhino from bigredkitty.net.... O.O!
It's a boss though. Don't think can cap it. =P

Exotic Pets - Devilsaurs Family

Was reading up on Exotic pets column under Petopedia.
Saw some information on Devilsaurs can be tamed in future.
They can be found in Un'Goro crater map.

Yep, while enjoying their sizes, i got crushed... >.>

Met Devilsaur... (weakest devilsaur in family...)

Tyrant Devilsaur:

Ironhide Devilsaur... and.... King Mosh >.>

Yep.... sacrifices are unavoidable... i got preyed hard.... >.>
1 feet stepped onto me = 900+ damage... 3hit KO-ed me... T_T

Graphics FPS Settings

Was fiddling around with the addon Dynamic Performance.
What i did was to move my character around in a rapid speed and turning the angles till i see it hits 60fps.

Then i clicked STOP to deactivate the addon.
I realized the graphics this time round runs smoother by alot.
Thus, i went to click on Video settings and took a screenshot on it.

Posting here to keep as a record for self reference.

Spirit of Competition

Someone enchanted my Spirit of Champion with a cookie and BOOM it grows bigger.
Rofl, look kinda like Dragon Ball series...

Gather 7 Dragon Balls and summon the Dragon and he will grant the summoner 1 wish o.0

Finally get to see Mini Tyrael in-game!

Ahh... reminds me the good old days in Diablo II Expansion.
Doppleganger-FL is my most powerful PvP Smiter/FoH Vindicator in US West.
This is the mini pet which i really hope that i would really hope to own one in WoW.
But too bad it's limited :(

He's from Diablo II.
Any Paladin player would want to take his 'aura wings' and fix onto themselves lol!

Another blue found

Decided to push my paladin's level as high as possible.
So at Lv49, i went to Western Plagueland and embark my journey there.

My brother's friend Edmund told me that they got their paladin sword from this area.
Purple weapon which is Epic. So far no luck yet but i managed to get this drop which was said to be best for Retribution Paladin & Druid for Lv49 cap:

Enchanting my weapon with Icy enchantment...

Got a pretty nice deal to enchant my axe with something more... oh my... it's so shiny =)
It is said to have extremely low proc rate but heck it. People go for this enchant for looks.
I'm like a BIG lightbulb in battleground with this axe now LOL!

Yay Victory~

Finally almost completing my Lv19 Twink build.
Left the godly enchants and PainBullet should be good.
After a strong defeat against hordes after the maintenance night, i went to do some trading.
Gathered my gold and improved on my equipments this time round =)
Uploaded screenshots of the battleground i went last night.
